Project description

Black Duck is a world-wide established tech company. One of their primary products is a Static Application Security Testing (SAST) service called Coverity. This tool is designed to passively scan and test code for security flaws and quality issues. A moderator can then assign tasks to specific employees.

Project Goal

Black Duck is cooperating with Georgia Tech to modernize the tool for marketing purposes, while addressing problems with the flow and utility.

Challenges

How do we balance marketing needs for a new-look while maintaining the essence of the program's UX and flow?

This is an ongoing project.

Process

This category details the step-by-step approach that will be taken during the project, including research, planning, design, development, testing, and optimization phases.

Research & Planning

Research follows a standard double-diamond procedure.

Conducted competitive analysis to identify existing solutions, challenges, and market trends. Conducted a Heuristic Evaluation and ideation session with experts. Next we will conduct either a speak-aloud protocol or a moderated usability test with an expert, and qualitative coding of a repository of user feedback. We will define target audience segments and outline key features based on user needs and market trends.

Design & Prototyping

We will collaborate with Black Duck's UX team to Iteratively refine the designs based on user feedback to enhance usability and visual appeal.

Results

Here, the outcomes and achievements of the project will be highlighted, including user feedback, adoption rates, and industry recognition.

Project will be finalized Around May and delivered to Black Duck for internal considerations.
